Jean Yves Gosti (Born 1960 – Paris)
Creates three dimensional sculptures, he uses assemblage techniques of stone (marbles of different colors) with steel and sometimes wood.
Depending of the sculpture he paints part of the stone in a certain color or covers the face with goldleaf.
Tani Staquet wrote about Gosti : Sometimes a sculpture whose infinitely despondent attitude betrays our own powerlessness, considers us with a distant gaze emerging from the deep, imposing its presence like a mask behind a mask.
Your sculptures stand proud, on the lookout, as if on the brink of a discovery that would perturb. (catalogue Gosti 1998).
